OneLife iD support UK Cycling Events with Sport & Emergency ID

Oct 13 2012

Riding the wave of this summer’s cycling success and growing popularity, OneLife iD have teamed up with UK Cycling Events, one of the UK's largest cycle sportive organisers. Together we have developed a new cycle sportive ID product to help cyclists ‘ride safe’ during events, training or the cycle commute.

In 2014 UK Cycling Events organised 40 events with 30,000+ riders covering over 30,000 miles. UK Cycling Events ensure their events are well organised with riders and marshals and supporters knowing exactly what to what to do if something unfortunate occurs. To support their focus on safety, the UK Cycling Events team wanted to help keep riders safe not only during their events but also while they were training.  UKCE turned to OneLife iD, and their newly developed interactive, personal sports and emergency ID wristbands, for a solution. As Craig Wilson from OneLife iD said, “too many cyclists are training or cycle commuting without carrying a useful form of sports or emergency ID”.

Martin Barden at UK Cycling Events liked the OneLife iD concept as it combined the capability to display personal emergency and medical details along with more enjoyable ’social’ functions that would help him develop the UK Cycling Event community.  Martin worked with OneLife iD to develop a new design. The result is the Team UKCE iD band, which offers users the following benefits:

  • A laser engraved emergency ID wrist band with text and web link to an online personal iD profile which includes ‘secure’ emergency contacts, detailed medical information and documents. Can be updated with documents, photos or links to other media.
  • Optional engraving of emergency contact and medical details.
  • Waterproof and sweat resistant silicon strap in UKCE green and black
